Our school was one of fifteen Catholic schools selected to participate in the Día de Muertos celebrations at Calvary Cemetery in East Los Angeles.
This event aims to educate them about the roots and significance of the traditional Day of the Dead. The students received classes, decorated skulls of sugar and picture frames, created colorful paper flowers and even built a beautiful altar to honor the dead.
Our Lady of Guadalupe School has participated in this event since it started 5 years ago and Mrs. Teran was interviewed by Efe, a Spanish international news agency – the article was published by several media outlets, click here to read or here to watch the Spanish video.
A special thank you to Mrs. Teran, Mrs. Carrillo, and Mrs. Hernandez for supporting our students with this amazing opportunity.
