Mission Statement

Our Lady of Guadalupe School – LA, in partnership with the parish, parents, and extended community provides a safe and caring environment that promotes spiritual, moral, and academic growth for all students. Our comprehensive educational program continues the legacy of faith, leadership, service and academic excellence instituted by the Columban Missionary Sisters. Our Lady of Guadalupe students are Catholic, life-long learners and responsible citizens.

School Philosophy

Our Lady of Guadalupe School has been serving the East Los Angeles communities since the fall of 1950. Our Lady of Guadalupe School creates a student-centered environment that is conducive to the total growth of the student and builds a pathway to the future. The majority of the students are members of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish and many are children of alumni. The school promotes within its students an appreciation of all cultures and their contributions to society. The priests, faculty, students, and parents have created an atmosphere where good citizenship, cooperation, social responsibility, and Catholic identity are encouraged. Our Lady of Guadalupe students will develop attitudes and skills that will assist them in assuming a positive role in society.

Parents as the Primary Educators

Our Lady of Guadalupe faculty and staff believe that it is the primary duty of the parents to be the educators of their child in matters of faith, morals, and Catholic upbringing. Hence, we perform our services in collaboration with the parents of our students.
